In what proved to be her final grand slam match, Maryna Zanevska wore a ribbon in homage to her homeland.
The Ukraine-born star who plays under the Belgian flag offered opponent Aryna Sabalenka no handshake at the end of their two-setter - a snub the Belarusian star is becoming increasingly accustomed to.
Zanevska, 30, announced her retirement prior to the US Open. With defeat in the first round, it marked the end of her career.
