The NRL are investigating a photo showing Cowboys star Valentine Holmes with what appears to be a bag of white powder from his Instagram account.

The Daily Telegraph reported The NRL have been made aware of the photo involving one of the game’s highest profile players (Holmes), and the integrity unit is looking into the photo.

Holmes has uploaded a picture with a bag of what appears to be white power on his own social media account.

Holmes is seen biting down on the unopened small bag while holding a drink. It has since been deleted from his Instagram story.

The photo is now being widely circulated.

The Telegraph can revealed Cowboys chiefs have advised the NRL integrity unit of Holmes’ conduct, with Cowboys hierarchy launching a separate probe of their own.

Cowboys bosses declined to comment but confirmed an investigation into Holmes was underway.

“The North Queensland Cowboys are aware of a photo posted to social media by a Cowboys player this morning,” the Cowboys said in a statement.

“The club is conducting an investigation as well as assisting the NRL Integrity Unit.

“The Cowboys will make no further comment until the investigations are completed.”
