Vodafone users across Australia reports major network outage with no mobile data
Vodafone customers across Australia are reporting a “massive outage” and are having trouble using mobile data.
Just after 11am on Friday, thousands of users reported issues with their data and many said they were also unable to make calls.
“Massive Vodafone outage. Only have 3G and can’t make calls or access data,” one Twitter user said.
Another wrote: “Big probs - my phone tells me Vodafone has ‘temporarily switched off the network.”
As of 11.50am, more than 10,000 people reported issues with Vodafone on the technology tracking website Downdetector.
Issues were reported in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth.
Vodafone responded to the outage in a tweet, saying they are working to get it fixed.
“We’re aware of an issue impacting 4G services,” they said.
“Data services may be falling back to 3G intermittently, causing congestion and slower speeds.
“We’re working to resolve this issue ASAP. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank customers for their patience.”
One Vodafone user in Melbourne said the issues are causing him to lose income as he is an Uber driver.
