Sophia Ramuno Signs With Washington

SEATTLE – Washington softball head coach Heather Tarr has announced the addition of pitcher Sophia Ramuno to the roster. Ramuno makes her way to Seattle after two seasons at Cal Poly.
 
This past season, Ramuno was a First Team All-Big West honoree after posting a team-best 2.31 ERA with 160 strikeouts, a 13-10 overall record and three saves in 32 appearances and 24 starts. She posted 12 complete games with five shutouts. Ramuno ranked in the top five in the conference in ERA, complete games, games started, hits allowed per seven innings, innings thrown, appearances, saves, shutouts and wins.
 
In conference action, she held a 1.72 ERA with an 11-6 record in 22 appearances and 19 starts over 114 innings. Ramuno also struck out 121 batters and allowed just four home runs in Big West action. She was twice named conference pitcher of the week.
 
As a freshman, Ramuno earned All-Big West honorable mention recognition and was named to the All-Freshman team after finishing fourth in the conference in strikeouts (142). In addition, she ranked sixth with 12 wins, seventh with 141.1 innings thrown and eighth with 21 starts.
 
A four-year letterwinner at Helix High School, Ramuno was named Grossmont Hills League Player of the Year during her senior season. She posted a .360 average and a 1.31 ERA with 257 strikeouts in 165.1 innings of work.
 
Ramuno joins Rylee Rehbein, Madi Balk, Riley Peschek and Ava Carroll in addition to six incoming freshmen Jade Bubke, Addie Craig, Alexis DeBoer, Sophi Mazzola, Morgan Reimer and Gabi Toney as part of the incoming class.
