The highly anticipated WBBL Stadium Series is set to kick off with an exciting double-header between Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder at the iconic Adelaide Oval. This thrilling clash will feature the best teams of the competition, promising an unforgettable cricket experience for fans.
Attendees at the opening match between Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder will have an opportunity to win double passes for the second match between Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers, which will take place on the Adelaide Oval RoofClimb. The lucky winners will also get to enjoy this unique experience from 7pm-9:45pm.
Not only will the matches be a treat for cricket enthusiasts, but there will also be several ‘Surprise and Delight’ prizes up for grabs throughout the event. Attendees can look forward to winning a Bat Flip Bat signed by Strikers captain Tahlia McGrath and Scorchers captain Sophie Devine. Additionally, Strikers playing shirts signed by the entire WBBL|09 squad will be on offer.
Food lovers will be delighted with Weber‘s presence at the event, offering a mouthwatering selection of complimentary dishes such as lamb cutlets, corn ribs, skewers, brownies, and more. Simply head over to their marquees at Bay 113 to enjoy these delectable treats.
In addition to the thrilling cricket matches, there will be plenty of off-field entertainment for kids. The Kids Zone, located behind the western stand at the grassed area near the Rod Marsh Memorial, will feature inflatables, activities, meet and greets with mascots Summer and Smash, as well as cultural education and art lessons for First Nations Round.
Indigenous artist Becca Hatch will be adding to the excitement with two captivating performances. Becca expressed her pride and honor to be a part of the WBBL Stadium Series and celebrate women’s contribution to cricket and Indigenous culture. Fans are advised to be in their seats by 6:15pm to catch Becca’s first performance, followed by her second during the innings break of the Strikers v Scorchers match.
Junior female cricketers will also be celebrated during Women and Girls Week, with a lap of honor around Adelaide Oval between games. Moreover, over 200 girls will participate in a pre-game clinic, promoting inclusivity and encouraging more girls to take up cricket.
For the convenience of attendees, free public transport will be available to Members and ticket holders before the first match, ensuring easy access to the event.
Tickets to the match are still available. Gates will open at 3pm at Adelaide Oval, allowing spectators ample time to enjoy the pre-match activities and soak in the electrifying atmosphere.
