Wind gusts of up to 113kmh were detected at Garden Island, off the Rockingham coast, about 9.10am this morning.
A Bureau of Meteorology spokesman said while they couldn’t confirm whether it was a tornado, the conditions were on par for tornado weather.
It’s understood if there’s a narrow strip of damage, it’s more likely a tornado than a series of thunderstorms rolling through the area.
