Former Broncos, Dragons and Wallabies star Wendell Sailor has been charged over an alleged assault on two men in a bar in Sydney’s CBD.

A NSW Police spokesperson told the Sydney Morning Herald officers were called to the bar on Erskine Street around 11pm on Wednesday following reports of an alleged assault.

Officers were told Sailor allegedly assaulted two people and intimidated a third, though no injuries were reported.

Sailor was arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station where he was charged with two counts of common assault, one count of behaving in an offensive manner, one count of intimidating a person with intent to cause them fear of physical harm and one count of remaining in the vicinity of a licenced premises after being excluded.

According to 9News, Sailor was reportedly drinking at the bar for several hours before the altercation took place in an alleyway outside Pappy’s Bar.

Following the incident, Sailor reportedly attempted to return to the bar before he was denied entry, refusing to leave the venue before police were called to attend the scene.

He was granted conditional bail by police and will face Downing Centre Local Court on November 28.

Earlier on Wednesday, police took out an apprehended domestic violence order to protect a woman from Sailor following an unrelated incident.

The 50-year-old scored 127 tries in 222 NRL games for the Broncos and Dragons from 1996 to 2009 and won premierships with Brisbane in 1997, 1998 and 2000.

Sailor also scored 13 tries in 37 Tests for the Wallabies and played in the 2003 World Cup final loss to England.
