What's open and closed on Christmas Day 2024?

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Last-minute errands often seem to pop up on Christmas and Christmas Eve, whether it’s buying a quick present or picking up one last ingredient for a recipe.

But, many stores are closed on Christmas Day to give their employees the holiday off to spend with friends and family.

Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Aldi and Costco are all closed on Christmas Day.

Walmart, Target, Home Depot and Macy’s are closed on Christmas Day. Kohl’s, Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores will also close their doors on the 25th.

CVS Pharmacy is open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but may have reduced hours. CVS says to check your local store before visiting.

All of Walgreens 24-hour pharmacies will remain open for 24 hours. On Christmas Day, Walgreens will operate during its usual hours, but the majority of pharmacies are closed except for 24-hour locations and some others.

Luckily, if you’re in a pinch on Christmas Day, most gas stations and convenience stores remain open on Christmas Day. Various Kwik Trip locations will be open on Christmas Day, although hours may be limited.

Before heading out, make sure to check the times of locally owned businesses.
