Courtney Williams scored 23 points to lead the No. 2 seed Minnesota Lynx to a 95-93 overtime victory over the top-seeded New York Liberty in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals on Thursday in Brooklyn.

The Lynx, who trailed by as many as 18 points, are the first team in WNBA postseason history to win a game after trailing by 15-plus points in the final 5 minutes of regulation.

Game 2 is Sunday in Brooklyn (3 p.m. ET, ABC). Each game will air on ESPN networks.
