ForbesToday’s ‘Wordle’ #1243 Hints, Clues And Answer For Wednesday, November 13thBy Erik Kain
Today is Thor’s day. That means that yesterday was Wordle Wednesday. I cooked up a riddle for yesterday’s namesake, Odin, to keep things interesting. Here was the riddle:
"We see without eyes and fly on dark wings, Gathering knowledge from peasants and kings. We serve the All-Father with news from afar, If you know his name, then you know who we are."The answer: Huginn and Muninn, Odin’s pair of ravens who serve as his messengers and spies. A bit tricky, I know, if you’re not into Norse mythology. I was feeling very tied into that mythos yesterday, and even wrote a poem about the wolf Fenrir if you care to read it. (It’s not entirely about Fenrir, but the backdrop of the wolf and Odin help create the backdrop and mood of the poem). In any case, extra points if you solved this one. Now let’s solve this Wordle!
How To Solve Today’s WordleThe Hint: Look in the back of your throat.

Can you solve today’s phrase?
Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here.
Tough word today, and I got a bit lucky even though it took me four tries. STORE, however, was not lucky at all. Zero green or yellow boxes, 330 words to go. CHAIN, despite using up nearly all the vowels, still left me with 40. ALBUM slashed that down to just two, though I only came up with UVULA at this point, and thought it must be the only remaining word. This was confirmed when it turned out to be the Wordle, but later when I went to Wordle Bot it revealed I actually had two options for my fourth guess. The other was GULAG, which I almost certainly would have chosen if I’d come up with it! I lucked out!
Competitive Wordle Score
Like yesterday, another wash today. I get 0 points for guessing in four and 0 points for tying the Bot. C’est la vie!
How To Play Competitive Wordle Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points. If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or just play for a new score each day. Fridays are 2XP, meaning you double your points—positive or negative. You can keep a running tally or just play day-by-day. Enjoy! Today’s Wordle EtymologyThe word uvula comes from Latin, where ūvula is the diminutive form of ūva, meaning "grape." The term uvula was inspired by the grape-like shape of this soft tissue structure hanging down at the back of the throat. In essence, uvula means "little grape" in Latin, referring to its rounded, droplet-like appearance. This term has been used in anatomy since at least the 17th century to describe that small fleshy appendage.
