The Parramatta Eels have suffered a massive blow to their premiership chances with star halfback Mitchell Moses set to miss up to three months with a fractured foot.

It’s been a horror weekend for star halfbacks, with the Moses news dropping a couple of hours after Foxsports.com.au revealed Penrith’s Nathan Cleary would miss up to a month with a hamstring injury.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Moses underwent scans on Monday where it was revealed he had a fractured foot and will miss a minimum of six weeks and a maximum of twelve.

Parramatta confirmed the news with a brief statement on Monday night.

“The Parramatta Eels can provide the following update following the Round 3 win over the Manly Sea Eagles,” the statement read.

“Mitchell Moses suffered a fracture to his left foot and will require surgery.

“The halfback will be out for up to 8 weeks.”

Moses played all 80 minutes of his side’s win against Manly, but it is believed he sustained the injury during the match.

The news is shattering for Moses and the club. The 29-year-old has been in stellar form to start the season and was the best afield against the Sea Eagles.

The injury could force Eels coach Brad Arthur to promote the promising young gun Ethan Sanders to first grade.
