The Minnesota Timberwolves suffered their first home loss of the season, bowing to the Dallas Mavericks, 114-120.
Despite a huge game from Anthony Edwards, who scored a game-high 37 points, the Timberwolves dropped to 2-2 in the West.
Edwards pointed out their lack of effort in the defensive rebounding department that may have caused them the game.
"It’s on us, especially myself. I’m big as hell. I’ve got to be able to box them bigs out,” Edwards said in a report by The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski.
“But them (explicit), they do a good job of getting those offensive rebounds. I gotta figure it out. Maybe I gotta ask Rudy what I need to do."
The Wolves had chances to take the upper hand late in the game but on a few occasions allowed the Mavericks second-chance opportunities.

Timberwolves coach Chris Finch also said that their team’s “defense has to be a lot better.”
Kyrie Irving paced the Mavericks with 35 points, while Luka Doncic had 24.
Minnesota, which got 20 points from Julius Randle, faces the Denver Nuggets next.
