During a panel event for the Black Music Action Coalition on April 24, songwriter and producer INK, who was a key part of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, seemed to suggest that Kacey Musgraves was nearly involved with Honey B’s most recent foray into country. During the conversation about Black women in country music, INK revealed that she wrote with Musgraves during the time Cowboy Carter was coming together. “I actually met Kacey because Parkwood, Beyoncé’s company, sent us down there and it was [Beyoncé’s] idea for us to just go to Nashville and really be on the ground and working with those types of people,” she explained, “She sent us down there because we were making country music, we wanted to bring that spirit…Kacey was amazing. We made five songs in one day.” One of those songs will appear on INK’s upcoming album, but none ended up being included on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter — but by the sound of it we were so close. And most importantly, where are those other four songs now?
