David Koch appeared in excellent spirits as he enjoyed a farewell lunch on Friday.

The departing Sunrise host was accompanied by fellow Seven stars Natalie Barr, Mel Doyle and Larry Emdur at Granna restaurant in Sydney.

The television host, 67, beamed as he headed to a waiting car with Natalie, Mel and Larry in tow.

Missing from the shindig was former Sunrise star Samantha Armytage who was noticeably absent from the festivities amid rumours of a feud with Natalie Barr.

David looked chic in a sleek black suit with a white dress shirt and kept things casual by skipping the tie.

Natalie looked gorgeous in a fitted white maxi dress with long sleeves that sat close to her figure.

Mel opted for a bright red blouse with dramatic feathered sleeves and a black pencil skirt.

Larry meanwhile was dapper in a navy blue blazer and black trousers as well as white shirt and pocket square.

Also attending was David's wife, Libby, who wore a camel toned coat and pale pink blouse along with black pants.

It comes after Sam returned to the Sunrise set for the first time since walking away from the top-rating breakfast show in 2021.

Armytage sat on the couch she had owned for several years during her own reign as co-host of the show to farewell departing host Kochie on Friday.

While Koch smiled happily at his former colleague's return, Armytage's successor Natalie Barr seemed less pleased.

The pair looked uncomfortable as Armytage sat down and left a large space between them.

However the two women did share a quick hug as Armytage walked on set while fans peered into the studio from Martin Place.

During the interview, Armytage referenced her own acrimonious departure from the show, telling Koch, 'I, after eight years, couldn't do [the job] any more.'

'21 years [of hosting] I just think is an extraordinary effort.'

The interview was over shortly after it began, lasting just five minutes before Koch and Barr moved onto other guests.

Samantha famously 'upset' Barr with a snarky tweet after departing the show in March, 2021.

Sam tweeted: 'Look, I'm out. Nat's wanted the job forever... and she's finally got it. She just needs to get on and enjoy it - and forget about me (even though I'm unforgettable).'

The friendly Channel Seven crew appeared to dine and dash as they made their way into a large SUV

Doyle was all smiles as she waited to get in the car after celebrating Kochie's exit from the morning show

Barr was reportedly 'gutted' by her predecessor's hurtful tweet months after her 2021 departure, suggesting she was desperate for the top job.

The 55-year-old was not expecting the former anchor, 46, to be so 'snarky' after they'd worked together on Seven's breakfast show for years, a source told New Idea at the time.

'No one was more shocked and saddened over Sam's comments than Nat,' the insider claimed. 'She is gutted and has no idea why the snarkiness continues, even though Sam has been gone [from Sunrise] for months.'

But on Friday, Barr appeared to put on a happy face, with the two women hugging off-camera in photos obtained by Daily Mail Australia.

Shortly after Samantha appeared on Sunrise for Kochie's final day on Friday, his former co-host Mel Doyle also appeared live on the show to bid him a fond farewell.

Mel, 53, gave both Kochie and Nat warm hugs as she appeared live in the Martin Place studio.

Mel hosted Sunrise from 2002 until 2013, when she was replaced by Sam Armytage.
