What happened at this race last year?

The 2023 race was a festival of flags. We had two Safety Car periods in the first seven laps, then a red flag, followed by a VSC mid-race, another Safety Car at the end, and two more red flags… which is the long way of saying last year’s strategies have to be viewed through the prism of events: plans went out the window.
