And then there were two. As in two more tournaments left on the 2023 LIV Golf calendar before the season-ending team championship. The upstart golf league competes for the first time since early August this week at Rich Harvest Farms outside Chicago.

Defending champion Cameron Smith will tee it up, trying to become the first player to repeat as a winner in a LIV event. However, it’s a different former major champion who’ll garner plenty of attention this week as Brooks Koepka gets in a few more competitive rounds before he joins the rest of the American team in Italy for next week’s Ryder Cup.

Koepka is the lone LIV golfer playing at Marco Simone and says he has been focused of late on being prepared to pitch in with his former PGA Tour colleagues.

“My whole mindset has been to practice for that the last few weeks. Yeah, I mean, look, I think it's one of the top six, seven, biggest sporting events you can have. So I like it when there's a little bit more eyeballs, a little bit more pressure,” Koepka said on Wednesday during a pre-tournament press conference at Rich Harvest Farms.

“It's obviously different with the whole team thing. Sometimes you don't play every match so you are just cheerleading from the side, which can be quite fun as well. I've enjoyed it. It's been great and I'm looking forward to it.”

But first things first. At Rich Harvest Farms, the standard prize money payout is up for grabs in the no-cut, 54-hole event: a $20 million individual purse, with $4 million going to the winner. There’s also $5 million on the line in the team competition.

Here’s the prize money payout for the field. Come back after the tournament and we’ll update the post with names and individual paydays.
