The clash saw the end to LSG's unique unbeaten record. LSG have lost a first game in IPL history while defending 160+ target. Batting first, Lucknow scored 167 runs, courtesy of a valiant knock from Ayush Badoni (55*). The batting order flunked on the day, as the hosts were 94-7 after just 13 overs.

In response, Delhi Capitals chased the 168-run target in the penultimate over. Heroic half-century from Jake Fraser McGurk (55), supported by Rishabh Pant's aggressive innings (41), gave DC only their second win in six games in IPL 2024.
