Saint cops horrific knock in terrifying scenes
St Kilda midfielder Mason Wood has copped a horrific knock that left him unconscious and in distress on the MCG turf on Thursday night.
Wood was the victim of friendly fire, clashing mid air with teammate Zaine Cordy as the pair leapt for the ball in the first quarter of Spud's Game.
The force of Cordy's hip flipped Wood, who landed on his head.

Saints medical staff rushed to Wood's aid, forcing him onto his side.
He was eventually brought to and carefully moved onto onto a stretcher.

He was seen talking to medical staff and moving his arms as he was driven away.
It's another scary incident as the AFL pushes to increase the protection of players' heads across all levels of football.
