Nikita Tszyu has promised to bash Jack Brubaker so badly this Wednesday night his wife will demand he leave the sport for good, warning: “I’m the Grim Reaper … and I don’t give a f… about his family”.

Ranked among the Next Big Things of Aussie boxing, 25-year-old Tszyu is promising to not simply retire Brubaker, but do it in brutal fashion when they throw hands during No Limit’s Pay-Per-View showcase at the Hordern Pavilion.

Despite a quirky, even jovial, build up between the pair over recent weeks, things turned unmistakably dark at a face off following Tuesday’s weigh-in.

Several times on stage, a clearly focused Tszyu told Brubaker up close that he was about to be retired from the sport -- and in unmistakeable fashion.

“I was just telling him ‘this is going to be your retirement, your last time in the sport … so enjoy it while it lasts’,” Tszyu revealed afterwards, a black hoodie pulled up over his head.

“I told him ‘I’m you’re Grim Reaper’.”

Asked how it felt knowing he was about to end a fighter who, despite a layoff of two years, has been fighting professionally for more than a decade, he continued: “It feels good. That’s why I have my hood on right now.

“I feel like the Grim Reaper.

“I’m channelling that energy. I just need my scythe and I’m there”.

While Brubaker hit the scales at 69.82kg, his rival was slightly lighter at 68.76kg.

But everywhere else? Tszyu was coming in heavy.

Like when he suggested Brubaker had always been a “loudmouth”, and was now set to be remembered for being ended by him.

After a brief pause, he then continued: “I intend to put a huge beating on him ... to the point where his wife doesn’t want him to go back into the sport anymore.

“Where he looks back at his kid and says ‘I can’t put my son through this anymore’.

“That’s the kind of pain I want to inflict on him and his family.

“Not to be too stark, but that is what is channelling through my mind.

“I couldn’t give a f… about his family.

“Couldn’t give a f… about what is going through his mind.

“This is an individual sport and I want to cause as much damage as possible.”

Tszyu also revealed that, while the build up may have seemed cordial enough, Brubaker had put himself on the fighter’s ‘Idiot List’.

“I’m nice to select people,” Tszyu explained.

“But to idiots I’m not nice.

“And once you get on that idiot list, I’m an a…hole.

“And Jack is on that idiot list.

“As soon as that cowboy hat came on he joined the idiot list.”

Asked afterwards about the exchange, Brubaker shrugged:”I’ve been around the block a few times, so nothing rattles me.

“He thinks this will be my last fight.

“I just let him know that I’ve got plenty of fights left in me. I told him to soak it up because I’ll be the one coming in to console him in the change rooms afterwards.”

Elsewhere, Tszyu also reconfirmed Fox Sports Australia’s story about he and Tim recommencing sparring.

As revealed earlier this year, Nikita was sparring in preparation for his Darkon Dryden when big brother whacked him so hard in the nose he required surgery.

The punch not only damaged Nikita’s septum but also caused a polyp to grow, causing grandfather Boris to can sparring between the two.

But with Tim Tszyu now eyeing off a potential fight with American superstar Errol Spence Jnr, Nikita is already learning to mimic the fellow southpaw’s fight style.

Asked about sparring Tim again, Nikita said it would also take his own game to new levels.

“He possesses the kind of skill that you can’t get from other sparring partners,” he said.

“It’s a masterclass.

“I’m still not ready to go with him but you’ve gotta dive into the deep end.

“That’s the way my father taught us how to swim, chuck us in and hopefully we’d float.

“The way we were taught how to ski ... he took us to the top of a mountain, without ever touching snow, and we had to get down ourselves.

“It took us five hours to get down but we learned how to ski.

“That’s how we learned. That’s the mentality.”

And as for Wednesday night?

“There aren’t going to be any smiles,” Tszyu said.

“He is expecting me to go toe to toe with him, but he’s dreaming if he really is expecting me to do that.

“I am going to try to outbox him the whole time. I’ll let him gas himself out and use him as a punching bag.”
