Follow Good Friday footy LIVE: North Melbourne v Carlton from 4.20pm AEDT

NORTH Melbourne and Carlton kick off a huge Good Friday at Marvel Stadium, with Fremantle to host Adelaide in the west in the second game of the day.

The Kangaroos are 0-2 after the first two rounds, but gave a glimpse into their future with a blazing start against Fremantle that might have looked even hotter but for some wayward set shots.

Unfortunately for the developing Roos, they returned to the familiar problems of the past as they were quickly overrun in the second half, making a four-quarter effort in the seventh Good Friday SuperClash even more crucial if only to show progress in their landmark match.

Carlton won its opening two games before it had its early-season bye last weekend, but their two wins have been by slim margins with one-point Opening Round win over Brisbane and a five-point round one victory over Richmond.

The Blues now have an opportunity to entrench their place near the top of the ladder against the young Kangaroos, while the return bout in round 19 will be the first time the teams have played each other twice in a season since 2008.

While the Kangaroos are unchanged, the Blues have a couple of big ins with Jacob Weitering and Caleb Marchbank, with Elijah Hollands to make his club debut after serving an illicit drugs ban.

Lewis Young and Brodie Kemp have been omitted, while David Cuningham is sidelined with a calf injury.

Fremantle and Adelaide will face off at Optus Stadium in the second match of the day.

The Dockers have been one of the surprise packets of the season so far with two victories from two starts.

DOCKERS v CROWS Follow it LIVE

While they will gladly bank the eight points from their come-from-behind wins over Brisbane and North Melbourne, the Dockers now have an opportunity to make a strong statement against another finals hopefuls on their own home deck.

Steady progression from Adelaide (0-2) over the past four seasons was broadly expected to continue this year in the push for a first finals appearance since 2017.

But the Crows are already on the ropes with a winless start to their season and need to turn around a 2-9 record away from Adelaide Oval since the start of last year, to start winning on the road and stay in touch with the top eight.

The Crows have dropped Sam Berry and lost Jordon Butts to an ankle injury, welcoming back James Borlase and Lachlan Sholl, while the Dockers are unchanged.
