Optus Sport has unveiled its hosting team for the UEFA EURO 2024 soccer tournament.

All 24 teams have been confirmed for UEFA EURO 2024™ and now it’s time for Optus Sport to begin to reveal its own team for the biggest international tournament of the year, including two of the hottest up-and-comers in sports broadcasting.

With just 51 days to go until the start of the tournament, Optus Sport’s hosting team of Narelle Sindos and Claudio Fabiano will guide Australian football fans through all 51 games of UEFA EURO 2024™, live and exclusive, across June and July.

Narelle brings a wealth of experience, talent, and enthusiasm to every sporting event she’s involved in. After working across a variety of football broadcast productions in the UK, Narelle returned to her native New Zealand, where she has worked as a sports journalist and presenter, covering a variety of events, including the Commonwealth Games, the FIFA Intercontinental Playoff in Doha, and the Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2021.

Narelle excelled on Optus Sport screens during the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™, covering the New Zealand-based matches, and will now bring her vibrant personality and deep knowledge of football as host of the coverage of UEFA EURO 2024™.

Narelle said: “I’m a passionate sports fan and I’ve been very lucky to turn that into a media career – I can’t wait for the sleepless nights working on UEFA EURO 2024!”

Claudio has been an Optus Sport regular for the last four years, most recently as one of the hosts of the live Daily Kick Off during the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™, Claudio brings a dynamic style of football storytelling to several weekly magazine shows. This will be the first tournament where Claudio will be the live match host for the broadcast.

Claudio said: “I’m absolutely pumped for the opportunity to lead this fresh broadcast for Optus Sport alongside Narelle. I have nothing but praise for them trusting a new generation of football broadcasters with the top jobs during this massive tournament, and it speaks volumes about their commitment to remain the leader in football content within Australia.”

The UEFA EURO 2024™ broadcast begins on June 15, with hosts Germany facing off against Scotland at the Allianz Arena in Munich – kick-off is 5am (AEST). Live only on Optus Sport.

Howard Rees, head of Optus Sport, said: “The countdown to UEFA EURO 2024 is well and truly on, with just 51 days to go until the first ball is kicked – and we are excited to bring Optus Sport customers every moment live and exclusive.

“And we are proud to have secured an exciting line-up of hosts in the form of Narelle (Sindos) and Claudio (Fabiano), who bring with them a deep knowledge of football and the innate sense of community that comes with an international tournament as big as this.

“I am excited to see them both bring our coverage to life and deliver a fantastic experience for our customers.”

With 51 days until the start of UEFA EURO 2024™, Optus Sport will make more announcements as preparations continue ahead of the curtain-raiser on June 15.
