Key Event

Djokovic leads 3-0 in second set, but he looks visibly ill

This is going downhill, fast.

Mannarino is yet to get on the board. He seems lost out there.

At one point during Djokovic's service game, it looked as though he was about to be sick all over the court as Mannarino pushed him from side to side.

Somehow, he managed to get through it and is now up 3-0. He used up all his 25 seconds before every serve to regroup.

Five days prior to the tournament, he said he was sick. You would have thought he would have healed up by now...

Key Event

Sabalenka through to quarterfinals in straight sets

The reigning Australian Open champion has done it in style.

She has defeated American Amanda Anisimova 6-3, 6-2.

Sabalenka thanked the crowd for the atmosphere on Margaret Court Arena.

"I love it," she said.

"I am getting stronger because I enjoy the atmosphere so much," she said.

Djokovic bagels Mannarino in first set, 6-0

While Djokovic definitely doesn't seem at his healthiest — he's breathing heavily and has tissues falling out his pocket — the world No.1 has claimed the first set 6-0.

In the fourth game, he broke Mannarino to 15, held his service game to love in the fifth, and then broke Mannarino again to 30 to win the set.

Mannarino had 12 unforced errors compared to Djokovic's four.

Live score: Taylor Fritz vs Stefanos Tsitsipas

What a blockbuster clash!

No.7 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas and No.12 seed Taylor Fritz are set to meet at the Australian Open for the second time on John Cain Arena.

Tsitsipas, who leads their head-to-head series 3-1, won their 2022 AO meeting at the same stage, though Fritz claimed their most recent matchup at the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters.

This is the 25-year-old Greek's fifth time reaching the second week at Melbourne Park.

He looked particularly vulnerable against Jordan Thompson in the second round, but managed to get the win in four sets.

Fritz also hasn't had the smoothest of sailing in the first few rounds.

The American was taken to five sets in his opener against Facundo Diaz Acosta, but did show improvement in his form against Hugo Gaston and Fabian Marozsan.

Who do you think will win and make it through to the quarter-finals?

Let us know by leaving a comment.

Key Event

Djokovic breaks Mannarino's first service game

The second game went for over eight minutes, which is unusually long.

Djokovic managed to consolidate his following service game, 40-15.

There’s been a fair few long rallies and volley techniques on show already — one rally went for 18 shots before Djokovic claimed it.

He now leads, 3-0 in the first set.

Sabalenka takes first set over Anisimova

Before the rain delay Sabalenka led 4-1.

Anisimova fought back to claim her second game before a comfortable 40-0 service game from Sabalenka.

The American then claimed another set to close the gap to 5-3 before another strong service game from Sabalenka.

She is yet to lose a point off her first serve.

The reigning Australian Open champion takes the first set 6-3.

Djokovic struggles, but ends up holding first game

It looked as though the world number one would get broken in his first service game after two uncharacteristic double faults.

But he managed to hold, 1-0.

The win predictor at the start of the match was 92 per cent to Djokovic. No surprises there.

Play has resumed on indoor courts

Aryna Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova have returned to Margaret Court Arena and Novak Djokovic and Adrian Mannarino have started on Rod Laver Arena.

Rain forces delays, arenas to be closed

Rain has forced Aryna Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova off the court in their first set.

Sabalenka is up 4-1.

They are now closing the roof on Margaret Court Arena and Rod Laver Arena.

Meanwhile, Marta Kostyuk and Maria Timofeeva's match has been suspended.

Live score: Novak Djokovic vs Adrian Mannarino

You may find this hard to believe, but Frenchman Adrian Mannarino won't know he's playing world number one Novak Djokovic until one hour before match time.

Crazy, right?!

Not wanting to know your next opponent within a reasonable time frame is not unique on tour, but Mannarino insists on this, 'don't ask, don't tell' policy.

After defeating Ben Shelton in a third-round five-set thriller on Friday night, Mannarino asked the on-court interviewer not to reveal whom he would face next.

He may get a surprise when he realises it's the GOAT.

Djokovic leads their head-to-head series 4-0.

But Mannarino could make things interesting if he takes the match to his fourth consecutive five-setter at this year’s AO.

Could we see another No.1 seed knocked out of the tournament?

Or is Djokovic hungry for another Australian Open title?

Rod Laver in the house to see Coco Gauff's win

His attendance didn't go unnoticed by the American teenager who paid tribute to him in her post match interview.

"There is no better court in Australia than Rod Laver," she said.

"It was an honour to play in front of you, so thank you for coming to my match."

Key Event

Live score: Aryna Sabalenka vs Amanda Anisimova

This is set to be an exciting match up.

Anisimova comes into the match having won three out of four games against the defending Australian Open champion.

However, they have not come head-to-head since the 2022 Italian Open which the Belarusian won 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Anisimovia is making her comeback after announcing a break from tennis in May last year due to burn-out and concerns for her mental health.

“I’ve really been struggling with my mental health and burnout since the summer of 2022,” the former world No. 21 said when announcing her break.

"At this point, my priority is my mental well-being and taking a break for some time."

Sabalenka has shown she is in strong form having progressed to the round of sixteen with a 6-0, 6-0 win.

Gauff in cruise control, through to quarter-finals
(Getty)

Clinical from the American.

The No.4 seed only needed 63 minutes to down Fręch, 6-1, 6-2.

Gauff managed to clinch the match on Fręch's service game. She was up 40-15 and won the final point with a backhand.

She's now reached the final eight in three out of the four majors.

A brilliant display of tennis.

For Fręch, the loss may hurt for quite some time but this is her deepest run at a grand slam. And she will end up collecting enough ranking points to move up into the top 50 for the first time.

Next up on Rod Laver Arena, Djokovic vs Mannarino.

Ash Barty says she believes Aryna Sabalenka will win the Australian Open once again.

The 2022 hometown champion has told Tennis Channel the Belarusian is the one to beat.

Sabalenka comes into the round of 16 after a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lesia Tsurenko.

"She's been confident, she's been clear and she has been dominant," Barty said.

"When she is in that kind of form it is really hard to knock her off.

"I think she has the ability to blow anyone away if she keeps going the way that she is going.

"I think she is the one to beat."

Fręch got herself on the board with her second service game, but it's been one-way traffic in this first set.

The American looks focused and fit.

She clinched the first set in just 26 minutes and leads, 6-1.

This morning fourth seed Coco Gauff is taking on world number 69 Magdalena Fręch.

Guaff has made history this Australian Open by becoming the first American teenager to reach the fourth round in Melbourne three times.

The 19-year-old has one major to her name having won the US Open last year.

On Friday Fręch fought back from one set down to defeat Anastasia Zakharova 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.

She is yet to win a career title and has been on court this AO for over eight hours.
