HT: Amiss after the siren! Freo flip the script and lead Lions by 18 points
(Getty Images)

The Dockers aren't done! Clark goes long inside 50, Amiss takes a hanger in attack and brings the house down with the set shot!

Confidence is a funny thing! Those two late goals in the first quarter helped, and the first of the term to Jackson gave Freo the belief they could compete and conquer. Their ferocity at the ball and the man has been so impressive, and it has steadily overwhelmed Brisbane.

The Lions have now conceded six straight and are scrambling. Everything that was working in the first quarter suddenly looks slow and safe. It's the Dockers playing with the dare and hitting the scoreboard as a result.

A hell of a turnaround by Fremantle. What twists await us in the second half?

Jye Amiss kicks another for the Dockers!

A stunning turnaround, and the Lions are suddenly shellshocked.

Freo were patient with the ball there and waited for Amiss to time his lead into space that maybe shouldn't have been there. He's wonderful kick for goal too, and Jye Amiss has his first goal of many this year.

Sonny Walters puts the Dockers in front!

And they are irrepressible right now! Darcy Wilmot was unfortunate to accidentally toe that out on the full, and if you give Walters a sniff he will make you pay.

A classy right-foot snap, and suddenly Freo are in front.

Inspirational stuff from a Freo small forward

This effort from Sam Switkowski is representative of the heat Freo have brought in this quarter. The slow start is in the rearview mirror now.

Josh Treacy nails Connor McKenna! And converts the free kick!

It's the Dockers bringing the physicality now, and that tackle from Treacy is the best of the lot so far. He belted McKenna, won the holding the ball free and cashed in with the goal.

We're all square in Perth! Hell of a fightback from Fremantle.

Caleb Serong is on world record pace

The Fremantle midfielder has 23 disposals already, and there is still 8:30 minutes left in the SECOND QUARTER.

Absurd numbers.

How romantic

Michael Walters and Brandon Starcevich get up close and personal in the quarter-time scrap.

Luke Jackson kicks one against the run of play`

Freo have been defending for their lives all quarter, but with their first inside 50 of the term they've found Jackson out the back in the pocket. A clever snap from the ruck, and suddenly it's an eight-point game.

Jackson has had a solid game so far, stepping up in the absence of Sean Darcy.

Harris Andrews is a brick wall

The big Brisbane defender has already taken seven marks and has five intercept possessions. Fremantle need to find a way to bypass him, or at least occupy him more heavily than he currently is.

But a lot of people have been searching for that answer for a lot of years.

No goals so far in this term, 16 minutes still to play.

Port Adelaide's Connor Rozee and Zak Butters have started their leadership reign with aplomb in a 50-point hammering of West Coast.

New skipper Rozee and fresh vice-captain Butters were among the stand-outs in Port's 16.24 (120) to 10.10 (70) win at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

Rozee gathered 27 disposals and kicked two goals while Butters, who also collected 27 touches and a goal, was typically creative.

The duo's midfield mates Jason Horne-Francis (20 disposals, two goals), Willem Drew (16 touches, two goals) and Ollie Wines (23 possessions) helped overwhelm the Eagles in the season-opener for both clubs.

Port spearhead Charlie Dixon kicked 3.3 and recruits Ivan Soldo (two goals, 28 hit-outs), Esava Ratugolea and Brandon Zerk-Thatcher were all solid.

West Coast were well served by Jack Petruccelle (three goals) while Elliot Yeo (20 disposals), Jayden Hunt (20) and ruckman Bailey Williams (13 hit-outs, seven clearances) battled hard.

The Eagles' hyped No.1 draftee Harley Reid made a bright start in his debut premiership game with eight disposals and a hand in a goal-scoring chain in the first quarter.

The 18-year-old finished with 16 disposals, five clearances and four inside-50s.

QT: Freo belatedly hit back, but Lions lead by 13
(Getty Images)

Bit of a stink on the siren, not sure what everyone is so grumpy about.

But the Dockers will be very relieved to have kicked those two late ones, because it was looking like a horror start until they did. The Lions came out hot, playing some slick and composed footy, but were helped massively by a series of horrible errors by the Dockers.

But once the Dockers settled, the scoring dried up and they were able to work back into it. They've given up a head start, but they're certainly not out of it.

Sam Switkowski makes it two! Freo hit back!

Right, here we go! We have a game now!

It's scrappy stuff from Freo, but they've got such quality smalls inside 50 that that sort of footy can suit them. Switkowski kicked that over his head in the end, the sort of half-chance the Dockers needed to take after such a slow start.

Crisis averted, Dockers back in business.

Bailey Banfield ignites the Dockers! At last!

It looked like it was going to be another burnt inside 50 for Fremantle, but Michael Walters made a contest of it and brought the ball to ground. Banfield was clean at ground level and accurate with his snap.

Boy did they need that just before quarter time. 1:29 to play in the first.

Lions still completely in control

Dockers making errors and coughing up some cheap ball as a result. Luke Jackson and Alex Pearce have had some good moments for Freo, but they badly need some help and quickly.

Six minutes to play in the quarter.

Zac Bailey kicks Brisbane's fourth! Horror start for Fremantle

Another shocking turnover coming out of defence from Freo, and one deep McCluggage kick later it's in Zac Bailey's arms.

He was never missing from there, and this is now a minor disaster for the Dockers. Home crowd more than a little stunned and concerned.

Freo all over the place! Zorko goals from a 50m penalty

Hayden Young gave away a free kick, and only one kick later encroached on the mark and gave away a sloppy 50m penalty.

It's Dayne Zorko opening the present this time, and he makes no mistake from directly in front. Fremantle have tried to come out with intent, but they are sloppy and scrambled right now. Three goals in five minutes for the Lions.

Matt Johnson called for a deliberate rushed behind! Hipwood has two!

And Johnson can have no arguments, as he was clearly beyond the line of the goalsquare when he thumped it through. Just a brainfade from the young midfielder, and a cheap goal to give the Lions.

Brisbane off to a red hot start in Perth!

Eric Hipwood opens the scoring for Brisbane

That long left leg does the damage for Brisbane, as Hipwood blasts through the opening goal of the game. Combative start, but all the field position is at Brisbane's end.

Massive game this one, for both clubs. Fremantle are desperate for a strong start to what has to be a bounceback year, while Brisbane are at risk of an 0-2 start.

Big crowd in the house, plenty of purple buzz. Pumped for it.
