Delta Goodrem makes candid sleeping arrangement revelation as ...

She delighted fans when she announced her engagement on Thursday night, and now singing sensation Delta Goodrem has made a candid revelation about her recent sleeping arrangements.

She chatted to Sunrise’s Edwina Bartholomew in a pre-recorded interview that aired the morning after she revealed her “best friend”, musician Matthew Copley, had asked her to marry him.

During the chat, Goodrem spilled on the hectic run-up to the very special personal moment.

Announcing their engagement with a photo and video posted to Instagram, Goodrem and Copley could be seen kissing at sunset in Malta, with Goodrem holding a glass of wine in her hand.

The pair had been enjoying a well-deserved break after a string of performances on Goodrem’s European Hearts on the Run tour.

“Delta, could you be any busier?” Eddy asked the star, who was on tour in Berlin at the time of the interview and is also appearing in a new Netflix romantic comedy, Love is in the Air.

“You’ve started your own record label, released a hit new single, you have sold out a tour and now, a movie! Have you got enough on your plate?”

“It’s definitely busy times but I’m feeling so grateful,” Goodrem responded.

“We were in Zurich yesterday, in Switzerland. And then the day before, we were in Cologne I think it was, we were in Paris the day before, and so it’s definitely a different country every day.”

“Feels like a very fancy Contiki tour at that pace,” Eddy replied, to which Goodrem made a candid revelation about her recent sleeping arrangements.

“I wouldn’t call it fancy!” she said.

“You’re sleeping on the bus, which is a tour bus. There is about 10 people.

“We’re all together in our little bunks. And it is... you know, you get there and it’s go time.”

Following Goodrem’s interview, Sunrise co-hosts Nat Barr and Matt Shirvington offered their congratulations to her over her engagement.

And they announced they would toast it with a champagne breakfast next Friday on the show where Goodrem will host a special breakfast party.

A day earlier, Goodrem’s fans had also gone wild over her happy news.

Celebs such as Rebecca Judd, model Jess Gomes and singer Samantha Jade rushed to congratulate the star on her engagement.

“Exciting times! Congratulations guys, wishing you all the happiness,” one fan wrote.

“Congratulations beautiful one! So happy for you both xx,” wrote another.

“Wishing you both the best for all the following years together,” said a third.

Others gushed over the engagement ring seen in a video she shared.

“That ring! Perfection!” one fan said, tagging Matthew Copley.

Recently, Goodrem paid a gushing tribute to her boyfriend for his birthday, calling him her “favourite human”.

“Another year around the sun!! On tour, on your birthday! ????❤️,” she wrote

“Happy birthday to my best friend and favourite human in the whole wide world. My ???? @matthew.copley ???? I love you!”

Photos showed the couple on stage dancing together and sharing special moments backstage and while travelling on tour.

Responding to the sweet post was Copley, who wrote, “You’re the ???? in my ????️????❤️❤️❤️❤️”.

Goodrem has been dating Copley for almost six years.

The couple has kept a low profile, with the singer previously sharing that it was a “conscious decision” to keep the relationship private.

“I made a (choice) that I’m not even going to comment ‘yes’ or ‘no’ … I’ve said nothing for three or four years,” she told InStyle in 2018.

Copley is also a part of Goodrem’s new record label ATLED Records which was launched earlier this year.

“Getting to play music anywhere is special for me, playing music anywhere with my love is even better, playing music with my love with my family in Malta was so incredible!” Copley wrote on Instagram on July 19.

‘But yesterday’s performance was important for more reasons than one.”
