Second half under way

It’s been an interesting first half - after their dismal performance in the Northern Territory, the Eels really have brought a different team to 4 Pines tonight.

But as we know from last week against the Dolphins, the second half is the real test - Parramatta conceded seven tries in the final 40 minutes of last week’s match.

Daly Cherry-Evans gets us under way with the kick, and Junior Paulo takes the first carry.

Eels go back-to-back with try for Simonsson

The Sea Eagles edge defence is hurting them - this time Bailey Simonsson goes over for a try on the right edge, beating Tommy Talau Tolutau Koula and Tom Trbojevic.

Clint Gutherson missed another conversion, which means he’s 0/3 tonight.

This is good stuff from Parramatta, just simple catch and pass football, completing sets and catching out defenders on the edge.

As for Manly, defence has been their worst enemy all year. Sure, they’ve racked up a few wins, but they’ve been conceding way too many points.

Sivo scores a double to put Parramatta ahead

Maika Sivo is over in the corner, and that’s a double for him tonight.

Manly’s right edge with Reuben Garrick and Jason Saab seems to be a bit of a liability in defence - expect the Eels to target that side more and more tonight.

Clint Gutherson misses the kick, and the Eels are ahead by four.

Watch: Brooks strikes a blow on Matterson

I’m not sure what the beef is, but Ryan Matterson and Luke Brooks are going at each other.

Talau hits back for Sea Eagles

Manly have finally managed to muster some points.

It comes from a Luke Brooks kick to Tommy Talau on the left edge, and he scoops it up and scores with ease.

The Eels have to be careful not to let Manly get on a roll now. When the Sea Eagles last played at home against the Panthers, they similarly struggled to find those first points, but once they had a try or two in the bag, the flood gates were open.

Reuben Garrick’s kick is good, and the scores are locked.

Sivo scores first for Eels

After being dropped last week, Maika Sivo has scored the first points of the night for Parramatta.

A bit of a messy set, but they got the points in the end.

Morgan Harper was lucky to get the ball away after what looked like a great tackles from Jason Saab, but he shifts it out to Sivo on the wing, who scores in the corner.

The kick from Clint Gutherson misses, and the difference is one converted try.

Parramatta fail to find points with Olakau’atu in the bin

Well, that’s ten minutes up in the bin for Haumole Olakau’atu, and the Eels have failed to find any extra points.

Just the two points from the penalty kick for Parramatta - they should have been able to capitalise on that.

Tuilagi bobbles Eels first chance

Parramatta have a perfect opportunity to score some points with Manly down to 12 players, but on their first attacking set Kelma Tuilagi drops the ball.

Sea Eagles get the ball back at half way, and have a chance to get some points.

Olakau’atu sent to the bin for ugly tackle on Shaun Lane

First an ugly tackle on J’maine Hopgood from Josh Aloiai, and now an even uglier one on Shaun Lane from Haumole Olakau’atu that sends him head first into the turf.

Lane seems to be ok, but Olakau’atu is given 10 minutes in the bin. Sea Eagles down to 12 men.

Skipper Clint Gutherson decides to take the penalty kick and gets the first points on the board tonight.
