NRL LIVE: Storm out to secure top spot as Knights look to repeat ...

Melbourne Storm

The Storm and Knights have exchanged tries early. It’s 6-6 after 30 minutes at AAMI Park.

Newcastle have been the best side to start the game, and should really be leading but they bombed a certain try when debutant Fletcher Sharpe went himself and was held up despite the Knights having a 3 on 1 overlap.

Nick Meaney scored for Melbourne just a couple of minutes later to compound the Knights faux pas.

MATCH PREVIEW

The Melbourne Storm will aim to finish the round on top of the NRL ladder as they welcome the Newcastle Knights to AAMI Park.

The Storm sit just two points behind the league leaders Cronulla Sharks, but there’s just a five-point differential separating the two.

A big win for Craig Bellamy’s side could help his team leapfrog the Sharks who were impressive in a 22-12 win over the Broncos on Saturday.

As for the Knights, their four-game win streak came to a brutal halt at the hands of the Canterbury Bulldogs in a 32-2 defeat.

Newcastle will also have to make do without young gun David Armstrong as Fletcher Sharpe makes his NRL debut at fullback.

Although the Knights go into the contest on the back of a loss, their 14-12 win over the Storm in Round 3 this season will have Adam O’Brien’s troops brimming with confidence knowing they can knock over Melbourne.
