18:10

GOAL 2-1 ALMIRON

Off the bench and Newcastle are back ahead through Almiron!!!

18:06

74mins: Sub Wolves

A fifth change for Wolves as Moutinho is replaced by Collins.

This looks like it could be a switch to three-at-the-back for the visitors as they did last week against Spurs.

What an impact after Lopetegui's triple sub minutes earlier though and they have really knocked on the door this half and you can definitely argue that is a deserved equaliser - although likewise, Newcastle should have ben two or three up at the break.

18:00

70mins: GOAL WOLVES: 1-1 HWANG

Instant impact from Hwang.

What's gone on there though? Wolves get an advantage after Nunes is pulled back on the edge of the box and the ball bobbles through to Trippier.

However, he slips as he clears it with Pope having come out just behind him and the ball bounces to Hwang 10 yards out with an open goal and he taps home with what must be his first touch.

A disaster at the back for the hosts but delight for Hwang who nets his first goal in more than a year.

18:00

69mins: Wolves subs

Triple change for Wolves too as Neves, Jonny and Podence are off for Hwang and Ait-Nouri and Nunes.

17:59

Yellow card Isak

Newcastle have regained a bit of control with a couple of corners, before Isak pulls back Semedo when he tries to break and is booked.

That's his last action as he's replaced by Wilson, while Almiron comes on for Saint-Maximin.

An attempt to regain some control in this game by Eddie Howe no doubt.

17:55

64mins: Good save Pope

Wolves are knocking on the door here.

Moutinho now fires on the volley but Pope gets down really well to parry it away.

A great save

17:55

63mins: Wolves enjoying a good spell

Wolves have been a lot better in this half and enjoying a decent spell of pressure.

Podence puts in a good cross which is cleared as far as Neves but he scuffs his effort miles over the bar - he's got to do better there.

17:50

59mins: Now a good save from Sa

A free-kick in a similar position for Newcastle.

Trippier fires at goal but Sa is equal to it and pulls off a good save.

Wolves are forward agian but good defending from Trippier clears the ball for a corner.

17:49

58mins: Great save Pope

Neto fires after a touch from Moutinho but Pope pulls off a great save.

Newcastle counter and Murphy gets goalside of Semedo who cynically drags him down and he is booked.

17:48

57mins: Free kick in a good position for Wolves

Some great skill from Podence to turn Guimaraes and the Brazilian duly fouls him, yards outside the box.

Neves, Moutinho and Neto are all lining up for this one and Wolves have a good pedigree with free-kicks.

17:47

55mins: Newcastle chance

Both sides are still throwing men forward here.

Counter attacks from both are halted, before Willock takes it past Semedo but his effort is straight at Sa.

Neto then breaks forward for Wolves but Podence's cross is headed away by Schar.

17:43

50mins: More uncertainty from Pope

Pope now dallies on the ball at the other end and Jimenez closes him down.

A slightly worrying moment but Newcastle clear the ball and are now back in possession.

17:40

48mins: Early chance for Wolves

Some good play from Wolves ends with Neves turning nicely, before firing over the bar from far out.

Neto is lining up on the right of midfield and they've come out with a renewed intensity.

Kilman then dallies on the ball and Isak blocks his pass out for a goal kick - much to the appreciation of the home crowd.

17:36

Back underway

We're back underway with one change for Wolves as Pedro Neto replaces Adama Traore - it's good to see the winger build up his fitness as he continues his comeback from injury.

17:22

HALF TIME - NEWCASTLE 1-0 WOLVES

Andy Madley signals the end of the first half and what a half of football it's been.

Both sides came out with intensity but once Isak put the hosts ahead after 26 minutes, it was one way traffic, with Newcastle creating a whole host of chances and almost overwhelming their opponents.

There was a slight scare at the other end however when the visitors were perhaps unfortunate not to get a penalty when Pope appeared to bring down Jimenez after a poor touch, while Podence also cracked one against the post.

It's still all to play for in the second half though.

17:17

44mins: YELLOW CARD PODENCE

Some neat play from Newcastle and Podence scythes down Murphy on the edge of the box.

He's booked and Newcastle have another free-kick in a dangerous position.

17:13

41mins: Newcastle keep up the intensity

Isak has been superb in this first half, running in behind the Wolves defence.

He does so again and some good build-up play ends with Murphy having an effort but it's straight at Sa.

17:12

38mins: Wolves HIT THE POST

This game is really taking off over the past 10 mintues.

Podence comes inside of Longstaff and fires at goal from outside the box but his effort cannons off the post.

Positive signs for Wolves.

17:08

35mins: Guimaraes HITS THE BAR

One-way traffic now.

Another great corner from Trippier, Burn fires the ball back across and Guimaraes heads against the bar from six yards out.

Newcastle are absolutely flying here and all over Wolves.

17:06

33mins: Trippier's crosses causing chaos

Newcastle win another free-kick and Trippier fires in another delightful ball, but Wolves just about manage to clear.

Newcastle are flowing with confidence now and the home crowd is getting right behind them.

A couple of shots from Isak are blocked by Kilman and Dawson and their intensity is almost overwhelming Wolves now.

17:03

30mins: Good save Pope

This game is kicking off now.

Wolves play the ball up the field and Jimenez fires at goal but Pope parries the effort away.

Newcastle then break up the other end with Isak's pace causing all sorts of problems again. But Dawson is there to block his effort.

17:01

Almost 2-0

And it's almost 2-0 straight away.

Isak bursts away in behind, Moutinho clears the ball into Willock and there is an absolute melee in the box.

Willock then fires at goal and it's going in, but Dawson makes a great and important block.

St James' Park is bouncing now.

16:59

GOAL NEWCASTLE 1-0 ISAK

And the hosts have the lead!

Newcastle win a free kick on the right-side.

Trippier whips in a delightful ball and Isak powers a header home from around the penalty spot and past Sa.

What a brilliant cross from Trippier and a much-needed goal for the £63m man.

It's been a pretty even half but the hosts are ahead.

16:56

More on the non-penalty

It was generally poor from Pope there with such a bad touch just a few weeks after his error against Liverpool here.

It seemed more of a coming together with Jimenez but you suspect if that had been given originally it wouldn't have been overturned.

16:54

POTENTIAL PENALTY FOR WOLVES

WOW! Chaos.

Wolves clear the ball and Botman plays a simple ball back to Pope.

The Newcastle kepeer takes a dreadful touch and Jimenez intercepts the ball and then seems to be caught by Pope inside the box.

But, after a lengthy VAR check, there is NO penalty - it seems the hosts have got away with one there.

Could Jimenez have stayed on his feet and tapped into an empty net!?

It came seconds after Neves was clattered by Burn in a 50-50 up in the Wolves box.

16:48

14mins: Newcastle chance

Newcastle force a corner after good work up the other end from Burn.

The ball is cleared by Wolves before Saint-Maximin heads it back in but Isak's effort is straight at Sa.

Newcastle are really pressing high up and getting in the faces of the Wolves defenders, with a couple of misplaced passes and clearances already forced.

16:43

Straight at the wall!

And Wolves clear with ease,

They then break up the other end and Traore plays a lovely ball in behind Burn but the big Newcastle defender recovers and clears the ball off Semedo and out for a goal kick.

16:43

10mins: Newcastle free-kick

A great switch of the play from Schar and Guimaraes is brought down on the edge of the area by Lemina yards outside the box.

Trippier is standing over this, along with Schar but surely the England man fancies this.

16:40

7mins: Newcastle's right-side linking-up well

Both teams have come out with intent and Longstaff and Murphy link-up well on the right.

A couple of dangerous crosses are cleared away and then Wolves deal with the corner after the hosts go short - much to the frustration of the home crowd.

16:36

2mins: Bright start from Newcastle

It's been a fast start for Newcastle with their new-look frontline today.

An early scare for Wolves as Jose Sa collides with Craig Dawson and drops a cross but he manages to jump on the loose ball in time.

16:33

Newcastle get us underway

And we're off...

16:30

Players are out

A big 90 minutes ahead at both ends of the table.

Here we go...

16:25

Wolves team news

Julen Lopetegui make four changes to his side despite their brilliant 1-0 win over Tottenham last weekend.

Moutinho, Traore, Jiminez and Podence come in for Nunes, Sarabia, Neto and Costa.

Traore netted a fine winner after coming off the bench against Spurs and is duly rewarded with a start today with kick off just minutes away.

16:21

A reminder of the teams

It's five changes for Newcastle as they aim to end their five-game winless streak that has seen them slip down to sixth.

Joelinton is suspended after picking up his 10th yellow card of the season last weekend against Man City, while Gordon is out injured with an ankle knock.

Schar returns after missing the City clash with concussion to replace Lascelles, while Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron drop to the bench.

Schar is joined in coming into the team by Willock, Murphy, Isak and Saint-Maximini - the latter two impresed when coming on at The Etihad.

16:10
