Woolworths shoppers have been sharing their shock after the supermarket confirmed a huge change to its deli counter.

Items bought in-store at the deli counter like fresh shaved ham, bacon and chicken will no longer be available for online delivery orders.

Customers are venting their frustrations at the controversial move dubbing it 'ridiculous' and 'unfair'.

'For the past three weeks I've been unable to order anything fresh from the deli for delivery and can only order pre-packaged brands,' one shopper said.

'Has anyone else been experiencing this? Is there a work around it or do I just swap to Coles? I can't buy any of these via boot pick-up or delivery BUT they are all available if I shop in-store!'

Another customer had the same problem asking: 'Does everyone know we can't get deli items delivered with home delivery?'

'Last couple of weeks we couldn't get any and had to ask family to go to Woolworths and purchase us some.'

A Woolworths spokesperson told FEMAIL the move was part of a review the company is rolling out.

'We're listening to the customer feedback and always looking at ways to improve the freshness of the deli goods we have for home delivery,' they said.

'We're undertaking a review of our delivery processes so we can continue to ensure we're providing the best offering for our customers. Where we can, we will offer customers a suitable alternative if their preferred choice is not currently available.'

However, many Aussies were not a fan of the change.

'Not fair to the disabled who can't get to stores,' one woman pointed out and another said: 'That's ridiculous'.

'The moment there are things you can't order, what's the point?! If you have to go for a couple of items you may as well get everything while you're there,' a third wrote.

'For me, it's a problem because we live semi rurally and I don't drive which limits my options,' a fourth complained.

Some online shoppers said they have still been able to buy deli items when they use partner drivers like DoorDash and Uber where personal shoppers go into store and handpick the order.

Not everyone was happy using a partner delivery for their shopping as the food is not refrigerated during transit.
