Mike Tyson took to the streets for his latest training session ahead of his highly anticipated fight against Jake Paul.

On Friday, Tyson took a trip down memory lane, visiting Brownsville, Brooklyn alongside former boxer Shannon Briggs. The 57-year-old moved to the neighbourhood at 10 years old and continued to live there through much of his childhood.

While touring the area with a crowd of locals, tensions jokingly reached a boiling point between Tyson and Briggs. After the pair briefly embraced, Tyson ripped off his shirt and held up his fists, prompting Briggs to follow suit.

The pair briefly exchanged in a slap boxing match, with neither fighter landing any strong shots on their opponent. As Briggs went to lift Tyson’s leg and drop him to the pavement, the duo burst out into laughter and called a truce on the fight.

“Brownsville’s finest always ready for a brawl. Love this guy,” Tyson wrote alongside a video of the spat. Briggs shared another angle of the scuffle with the caption: “@miketyson and @cannon_briggs in Brownsville having a straightener in front of #AtlanticTowers !!!! @smoothedahustler the referee!!!! It’s on!!!”

As a young child, Tyson was exposed to a wide array of crime and illegal substances while growing up in Brooklyn. The legendary boxer discussed his challenging upbringing in the 2013 autobiography titled, “The Undisputed Truth,” divulging the struggles he faced at home and in his neighbourhood.

"I was scared to be in the house, and I was also scared to go outside," Tyson wrote in the book, per MARCA . "By then, I was going to a public school and that was a nightmare.

"We didn't have hot water to shower in and, if the gas wasn't on, we couldn't even boil water," he added. "My mother tried to teach me about it (hygiene) but she didn't do a very good job. She used to take soap and fill a bucket up with hot water and wash me."

During his teenage years, Tyson ended up getting involved with the wrong crowd, landing in jail 38 separate times before turning 13. “That’s what we were, savages out there. Survival of the fittest. Even if we know you, if you are weak we gonna get you,” he said during an appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast back in 2022.

“If you don’t shoot somebody, that’s disrespectful. You ain’t s*** in Brownville.”

Boxing eventually provided Tyson with a chance to turn his life around. The Brooklyn native didn’t let the opportunity go to waste, quickly becoming the youngest heavyweight champion at just 20 years old.

Tyson would go on to have a dominant professional career, recording a 50-6 record and 44 wins by knockout en route to being named “The Baddest Man on the Planet.”
